What we will not run
Decided before the first advertiser asked, and published so it is a rule rather than a negotiation.
Before anything runs
ARCON approval
Nigerian law requires advertising to be vetted before anyone sees it, and holds the outlet that showed it responsible alongside the advertiser. We record the approval and its expiry, and we do not run a creative without a valid one.
A permit for anything facing the street
A window decal or wall seen from the road is outdoor signage. The venue needs the state signage permit for it; a street-facing space without one is not for sale here.
What we turn down
Politics
Nothing political, at all.
Cures and money promises
Anything that promises to fix your body or grow your money.
Drink and betting, where the venue says no
And the default is no for family places.
A competitor's advert in a venue that has not consented
Resolved by us against the venue's own categories, rather than left to the venue to spot after it is already on their wall.
Fake urgency
Countdowns and “only 2 left” when it isn't true.
Ads pretending to be the app
Nothing dressed up as an order update or a system message.
Two things we always do
- Every paid ad is labelled “Sponsored”. We draw it, not the advertiser.
- Every ad is checked by a person here before it goes anywhere.
